Who Can Apply?

Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (graduation by August 31, 2026).
Excellent academic performance.
Strong interest in interdisciplinary China Studies.
Record of extracurricular activities, community engagement, or leadership.
English proficiency (IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 100, Cambridge 185, CET 6: 600, or TEM 4: “良好” or above).
Generally, applicants should be under 28 years old.

English Proficiency Exemptions

Native English speakers or those with an English-taught degree are exempt from submitting test scores.
Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan applicants must submit English proficiency scores, or take English as a Second Language at Peking University if scores are unavailable.
Mainland Chinese applicants must provide English proficiency scores.
Tests must be taken after September 1, 2023.

How to Apply

Complete the online application form via the Yenching Academy portal.
Submit required documents: personal statement (≤750 words), research interest statement (≤1500 words, excluding citations), CV, transcript(s), diploma(s) or enrollment certificate(s), and two academic recommendation letters.
For students at Yenching Partner Universities, apply through your university’s internal pre-selection process first.
Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan candidates must also complete a supplementary application on the Peking University Graduate Admissions website.
