About the GKS Scholarship
The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded program designed to promote international cooperation and provide opportunities for students from over 150 countries to study in South Korea. Formerly known as the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP), it offers 280 scholarships for undergraduate and associate degree programs at leading Korean institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a citizen of a GKS partner country (no Korean or dual citizenship)
- Under 25 years of age
- High school graduate or expected to graduate by December 1, 2025
- Good health and ability to maintain GPA
- For Bachelor’s: Must have graduated high school or associate degree
- For Associate Degree: Must have graduated high school
Application Tracks
Embassy Track
Choose up to three universities (at least one from type B list). Submsit applications through the Korean embassy in your home country.
University Track
Apply directly to one university. Check specific university requirements on the Study in Korea website.
How to Apply
- Register on the Study in Korea website.
- Complete the online application form and upload required documents.
- Check university-specific requirements in the “University Information” file.
- Ensure TOPIK Level 3 (or higher for some universities) to start the degree program.
- Submit original documents and signed forms for the second round (NIIED).
